June 28, 2014 By Charles Michel Leave a Comment

If there is one thing that completes the personality of a person, it has to be teeth. How many times have you thought about people with perfect teeth and attractive smiles to be lively and healthy? You often end up wondering whether it their perfect genes or large amounts of money spent on dentistry  that has lead to that perfect smile. Whatever the reason, it sure makes a positive impression on you, and may even help you secure a potential deal , job or win the affection of another.

Imagine the possibilities of having perfect teeth. It might sound strange, but the advantages can be countless and sometimes even unthought-of.  If you had a perfect  smile then the chances are that you would enjoy attention of more people. You would look great in pictures, people would smile at you and you would be considered lively and attractive. A perfect smile can also win the trust of someone  important to you, and you can only imagine the further possibilities.

Oral hygiene is something that you would have been lectured about when you were young. Your parents would have made sure that you brush your teeth  regularly and floss them correctly so you avoid sugar foods that can lead to cavities. As an adult, good oral hygiene is still important to keep your teeth looking and feeling their best. Good oral hygiene helps to prevent cavities and stained or yellowed teeth, as well as bad breath. Bacteria in the mouth can build up over time and mix with food particles and white blood cells to form a transparent, sticky film called plaque. The acids in the plaque break down your tooth enamel, weakening it and allowing cavities to form. If you do not brush and floss regularly, this plaque hardens and forms tartar, a hard, yellow substance. Tartar itself can become the root cause for other diseases.

As well as brushing your teeth twice a day and floss daily, it’s imperative that you visit your dentist regularly for routine inspection and proper cleaning. Today, dentistry has advanced so much to help you find solutions to all kinds of problems that you might have regarding your teeth.

Dental implant: an artificial tooth made of titanium placed into the jaw providing replacement to the original tooth or bridge.

Veneers: a popular choice as they provide cover to front surfaces of unsightly stains and heavily fluted front teeth.

Tooth whitening: a gentle and non-invasive treatment designed to brighten your smile by gently breaking up the stains and discoloration on the teeth. For best results, teeth whitening should be performed by a qualified dentist.

Crowns: crowns are used to repair heavily fluted or broken teeth. They can also be used to re-align teeth and straighten your smile.

Bridges: bridges are used to replace missing teeth and provide a quick, natural-looking result.
