The Many Reasons To Take Vitamin Supplements

Many people believe that if they eat their fruits and vegetables, expose themselves to adequate sunlight, get enough sleep, and stay well hydrated, they do not need vitamins and minerals from other sources. However, the simple truth of the matter is that 90 percent of people in Australia are not getting the nutrition needed by their body from diet and exercise alone. In fact, many of the vitamins and minerals thought to be in your food are removed during processing, and even fresh vegetables and fruit are not always as rich in natural health benefits as they were in the past. This is due to changing production practices, that strip the soil of the nutrients and minerals once soaked up by the plants grown in it. For these reasons and more, it may be in your best interest to consider a vitamin supplement.

Nutrient Depletion

As previously mentioned, soil used at agricultural sites is now lower in nutrients and minerals than ever, and this is affecting the general nutrition of the crops grown there. People rely on the elements in the soil for absorption of proper amounts of minerals, and this cannot happen if the process is interrupted. If the process should be interrupted during any stage of growth, the plant will have reduced levels of the essential vitamins and minerals needed by your body to function, and you will have no choice but to consider other options for complete nutrition.

Ability to Absorb Wanes

As you age, your ability to absorb nutrients from food will naturally decrease. Growing children should also take a daily vitamin to support healthy tissue and bone formation, but it is increasingly more important for adults to do so. No matter what type of food you eat on a regular basis, the truth is that a very small percentage of people, worldwide, receive what they need through natural processes alone. By choosing the right supplement you give your body best immune system  and fighting chance for the future.
