Tiredness And Fatigue

Tiredness And Fatigue? Here’s How To Re-energize Yourself

May 20, 2017 By Charles Michel Leave a Comment

Do you find yourself dealing with tiredness and fatigue all the time?

Do you go through the day fighting the urge to go back to bed?

Is your professional and family life starting to feel the impact of your physical and mental exhaustion?

If these are regular occurrences, know that you’re not alone. The condition you’re sensing has a medical term – Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention calls it. And, it will surprise you to know that over 1 million of people in America deal with the condition all the time.

Most people tend to brush off their feelings of tiredness and fatigue as age-related or the result of not getting enough sleep. They may also put it down to working too hard. But, if you’ve been finding it more difficult to perform at work and home, it might be time to explore the reasons behind your waning energy levels. And, get your life back in order.

Check with Your Medical Practitioner

The first step you need to take is to consult with your medical practitioner. She’ll likely recommend that you go in for some tests to determine the causes behind your lack of energy. Oftentimes, various medical issues can sap your strength and make you feel listless and fatigued. These causes can include

  • Deficiencies of minerals like iron, folic acid, Vitamin B12 and D, chlorides, calcium, magnesium, sodium, or potassium
  • Anemia that results from iron deficiency
  • Insomnia and sleep apnea.

Fatigues May Result from a Combination of Factors

Once your doctor starts exploring the possibilities, you might even find that your exhaustion is the result of many factors working together.

Like for instance, your tiredness and fatigue could be linked to obesity that results from eating disorders. Obesity can lead to other issues like diabetes, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, or hypertension. On the other hand, obesity could be the result of thyroid imbalances. Or, maybe your hormone levels going askew could be causing the pounds to pile on.

Ask About the Possibility of Hormone Imbalances

Hormone imbalances are often overlooked as a cause of tiredness and fatigue. As you cross the age of 35, levels of progesterone and estrogen in women and testosterone in men start to drop gradually. As a result, you might start to sense symptoms like weakening muscles and bones, lower libido, insomnia and disturbed sleep patterns, weight gain despite following a healthy diet and exercise regimen, and indigestion, among others. All of these symptoms can ultimately result in the lack of energy and motivation to go about your daily tasks.

Consider Opting for Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

Typically, a simple blood test can assess the hormone levels in your blood. And, the solution is simple. You can correct the imbalances by opting for plant-based supplements. These medications can restore harmony in your body without causing any adverse effects. Soon, you’ll feel your energy returning, the tiredness and fatigue vanishing, and find that it is much easier to take care of your daily tasks. Check with your medical practitioner or contact the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center and ask them what is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

Co-founder and hormone replacement therapy expert Dan Holtz reveals to Biggest Loser Personal Trainer, Jillian Michaels, “The weakness in your body and hormonal factors are all huge factors together. By the time I reached the age of 38, I found that no matter how hard I pushed my body fat levels were going up. The doctors told me that I had low hormone levels and I had no idea why. I was eating right sleeping right and doing all the things I was supposed to do. And yet, I wasn’t getting the results I wanted. I also got joint inflammation, depression, fatigue, insomnia and all those things like a weakened immune system.”

To get to the cause of the problem, Holtz did a careful study of how hormones could be replaced to cure tiredness and fatigue and came up with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

Can There be Any Other Causes of the Tiredness and Fatigue?

Once your doctor has eliminated the possibility of hormone imbalances as the cause of your tiredness and fatigue, you could explore other options. Blood tests might find that you have other medical problems such as:

  • Hypothyroidism
  • Liver or kidney issues
  • Cushing’s disease
  • Infections in the body such as flu, tuberculosis, or malaria, among others
  • Cancer
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Inflammation in the body

Depending on the medical issues identified, your doctor will prescribe the right course of treatment that can cure the problems and restore good health. He may also take a closer look at your diet and ask you to include more of nutritious foods. You might want to inform your doctor about all the medications you’re taking. Many times, certain drugs have side effects that leave you feeling weak and exhausted.

Psychological Problems can Result in Fatigue

Various psychological issues can also leave you feeling listless and tired. These can include stress and anxiety, loss of a loved one, alcohol and drug abuse, mourning, divorce or separation, eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia, or any other. On the recommendation of your doctor, you can work with a psychologist, life consultant, or counsellor who can help you through your emotional problems. As you feel happier and calmer, you might find that the constant tiredness and fatigue are fading away.

Don’t Let Fatigue Rule Your Life

Tiredness and fatigue, and the inability to conduct your day-to-day activities can have several repercussions in your life. You might find that your family life and responsibilities are getting affected or that your career is taking a downturn when you can’t deliver on the job. A wise option is to get to the root of the problem and correct it before it completely takes over your life.
