Treating The Intolerable Prickly Painful Sensations In Your Heels

Plantar fascia may be termed as the acute pain in your heels that start giving painful sensations during walking or standing. Both sexes and people of all ages and the runners, in particular, are more prone to this disease that is caused due to inflammation. If not cared for well in time, the pain could spread to the knee, foot, back and hip too.

Symptoms and causes – Those suffering from plantar fascia generally complain of stabbing pain in the foot bottoms near to the heels. It becomes intolerable when we start walking in the early mornings and standing for long after sitting. Painful sensations increase after exercising or doing anything but not during doing so. Generally, our age could be behind this ailment that is quite common amongst people between forty to sixty years of age. Running for longer distances, dancing, ballistic jumping and aerobic dance could cause this problem that can attack us because of unusual walking or high arch and be being a inattentive guy. Excessive weight and standing or walking on hard surfaces could also cause this problem.

Treating the disease – Be wise to consult your doctor that could suggest examining your foot for diagnosing the real cause and its apt treatment. He may advise you to undergo imaging tests that could reveal pinched nerves or the broken bones behind plantar fasciitis. The wise physician usually recommends NSAIDs that help reducing inflammation and painful sensations. He or she could advise the obese guys to reduce their excess weight with apt treatments. Steroid injections could also be the right treatment options for reducing sharp pain in our heels. Inflammation can be controlled for long while acute pain can also be checked for considerable periods.

Icing the paining heels could also be suggested by the learned doctor that may ask you to undergo physical therapy for which physical therapist could be consulted. Learning the stretching and strengthening exercises for lower leg muscles and Achilles tendon are taught by the wise therapists that manage physical therapies.  Massaging, contrast baths or ultrasonography could also be much helpful for the patients that may have to undergo long treatments.

Shock-wave therapy involves shocking the paining heels that improve the flow of blood in the foot and healing the tissue. Nerves are stunned. Then there is the Tenex procedure that involves a small cut and ultrasound for targeting and removing the scar tissues. Surgery could be the last option for the patients that are challenged with plantar fasciitis. Heel bones are freed from painful sensations with surgery that is considered as the best resort for intolerable pains and serious injuries that otherwise could not be treated with other treatments. This small operation does not take much time and you can go home the same day. It is wise to make use of splints or boots and avoid putting weight on the painting feet for considerable periods of time.

Plantar fasciitis, i.e. the PLAN-tur fas-e-I-tis, the real culprit behind plantar fascia involving excessive inflammation could be rooted out with these treatments.
