Drinking green smoothies has been proven to have great health benefits. However, what many people don’t know is that these same smoothies are amazing for the skin and have great beauty benefits which you can enjoy especially if you make it a habit to drink them every day. When you want to make a smoothie, it will be good to choose the right fruits and vegetables, those ingredients known to have an effect on your skin and the entire body system. Here are some of the beauty benefits you get from drinking healthy, green smoothies: –

It Gives You a Radiant Skin

The name green smoothies generally come from the fact that these drinks contain a lot of fresh green vegetables and fruits. These are credited with helping your skin your skin to glow thus helping you look younger and healthy. Green leafy veggies normally include fiber, Vitamins A & E and antioxidants and these are essential for promoting gut health. By promoting a healthy gut, your skin feels and looks fresh and rejuvenated, giving you a youthful skin.

Helps Get Rid Of Acne

You can eliminate acne by drinking green smoothies regularly. Green smoothies contain active ingredients of the green matter, chlorophyll which helps facilitate the healing process in the body. The drink also comes with vitamin A which helps in rebuilding connective tissue. Other nutrients found in green smoothies include vitamin K which can help reduce visibility of scars on the skin. To eliminate acne, always add ingredients such as ginger, kale, bananas and apples among others.

Makes the skin firmer

Drinking green, healthy smoothies will help make your skin appear firmer. This is made possible by the increased collagen production which is a major protein forming the skin. You should consider adding fruits and vegetables such as oranges, apples and strawberries when making a smoothie to help your body produce more collagen. You can also consume frits such as citrus as they are good in the increased production of free radicals thus helping the skin look firmer.

Normalizes Sebum Production

Green smoothies can also help regulate the production of sebum. This will help ensure that the skin is not filled with pimples and does not look blotchy. It also helps prevent the skin from aging prematurely.  You can make your smoothies using ingredients such as spinach, pumpkin and others which are rich in zinc to aid in the regulation of sebum production.

Provides Protection from Harmful Sun Rays

Healthy green smoothies are rich in carotenoids which are effective in protecting the skin against harmful UV rays from the sun. Smoothies also contain other properties such as fatty acids, Vitamin E and C which are also effective in the protection of the skin.

When making a smoothie, always include green veggies and fruits such as avocados, berries, oranges, kales and spinach among others. You can also throw in sweet fruits to conceal the raw taste of vegetables especially if making the smoothies for kids.

Eliminates Wrinkles

Due to exposure to harsh elements, your skin gradually develops wrinkles and aging. However, this process can be reversed and protected by consuming green smoothies as they are rich in Vitamins A, C and E. These nutrients are essential in the production of collagen which helps keep the skin young and free from wrinkles.  Studies have shown that once absorbed into the body, vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) does really help in the reduction of wrinkles. As you make a smoothie, always include leafy greens such as spinach and kales to help supply your body with these nutrients. Green smoothies are also a good source of Q10 which is a naturally occurring co-enzyme responsible for keeping the skin firm and looking smooth.
