Your Meal Prep Should Include These 3 Supplements

July 10, 2019 By Charles Michel Leave a Comment

We all do our best to eat nutritious foods, exercise regularly, drink enough water, get the right amount of sleep, and avoid stress, but sometimes we fall short. That’s where a supplement can come in and make a big difference. And that is OK! There are three supplements that can really add to your healthy diet to help you feel better and stronger.

1. Fish Oil

First, there’s fish oil. Omega-3s are in fish oil and contribute to normal brain and eye development. The oil fights inflammation, therefore helping the bones, teeth, and eyes feel better. Reducing inflammation also helps fight the symptoms of diabetes, depression and heart disease. If you have dry eyes at all, taking fish oil regularly can help immensely. It may also help support heart health. It can increase HDL cholesterol levels (the good kind) and help reduce blood pressure. Fish oil supplements may also help hydrate and maintain healthy skin. Not only can it help with physical health, but studies have also found that increasing Omega-3 levels can reduce the side effects of depression.

Just make sure to take a daily dosage of .2-.5 grams which contains at least 0.3 grams of EPA and DHA per serving. You can find it over the counter at most major grocery stores. Pro tip–store it in the freezer to reduce that fishy smell and cut back on that fishy aftertaste.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

Rather than drinking lots of nasty apple cider vinegar, you can enjoy all those benefits from tiny capsules! Apple cider vinegar can help reduce the risk of developing heart disease. It supports the maintenance of a healthy heart and cardiovascular system. Studies have also found that it can improve insulin sensitivity, lower blood sugar levels, and reduce cholesterol and blood pressure.

It can also help support weight management by boosting metabolism and supporting digestion. Apple cider vinegar is known to decrease appetite, control cravings, and stabilize blood sugar levels.

We are all about the cleanse and detox these days, and apple cider vinegar is one of the best! It’s a natural detox that flushes toxins, pollutants, and harmful chemicals from your body, thus reducing bloating and inflammation. Improve your overall well-being with this amazing supplement to round out your healthy lifestyle.

3. Calcium

Growing up, your mom probably made you drink your milk so your bones grow healthy and strong. In this and many other instances, mom was right! Calcium is important for bone health, which also includes strong teeth. Calcium can also provide benefits to the muscular system, the heart and the nervous system. Consuming the right levels of calcium, along with Vitamin D, can help prevent cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

You can obtain calcium from many vegetables and dairy products, but due to allergies, religious beliefs, or simply not eating enough, many fall short of the calcium levels needed to reap the benefits. That’s where a supplement comes in to round out your healthy diet and lifestyle.

Taking supplements daily can help you achieve your health and wellness goals and improve your sense of well-being! Do your research on the product and make sure to follow the prescribed schedule. If you have any questions, consult with your physician.
